My 2021 In Film

  2021 was... quite the year alright.  “2020 The Sequel” would be one way to put what much of the year felt like.  It sucked.  It just plain sucked. Nowhere near as much as the dumpster fire that was the year prior but it was still very much shitty in its own  way.  2021 was very much like the second installment in a horrible franchise that only marginally  improves upon the original but the underlying  flawed premise just ruins the potential for any  good to come out of it. The world of cinema on the other hand was pretty good actually. The Green Knight (A24) From enchanting journeys courtesy of  The   Green Knight (A24) to fascinating reimaginings  with tales like Spencer  (NEON).  We got a comedy special that was sometimes funny but mostly depressing and all the better for it in Inside   (Netflix) and on the opposite end, an actually  good feel-good drama with CODA (AppleTV+). My YouTuber Faves

Art is something that's existed all my life but it wasn't always something I appreciated as much as I do now.

For the longest time, I viewed art as simply entertainment, not that there was anything wrong with that. After all, art and entertainment have never been mutually exclusive. Art, however, isn't just entertainment and the second I realized that well... my whole world changed and in my opinion, for the better.

Suddenly the world of art had so much more to offer me. It could make me feel. It could make me think. It could make me realize things I hadn't before. It could present all sorts of experiences outside of just entertainment that could forever change me as a person. 
It could matter.

This new journey I was on however didn't happen in a vacuum as there were many... let's say, forces at play in helping me get more out of art than what I had thought was possible before.

This post serves as a way to highlight and share some of them with you on the off chance that they can have a similar effect in your own life or just a generally good time with a few good laughs.

Usually very entertaining & thoughtful videos about the intersection between art and politics.

They're my favourite.


Mic The Snare



Mic The Snare is a music analysis/entertainment channel that looks at "how and why we listen to music". 
He makes Examaning videos which are "long-form case studies on anything relating to music, taking analytical looks at history, theory, production and/or culture". He makes Deep Discog Dive & Mic's Monthly Mix videos as well.
He's also very funny in my opinion.


amandabb



amandabb is a beauty and entertainment channel that goes over the latest TV shows, makeup products, music releases, internet drama and much more. She makes consistently hilarious videos and gives her strong opinions on whatever the topic of the day may be.
A truly fun time with every video.


Dylan Is In Trouble



Dylan Is In Trouble is a commentary and reaction channel with a focus on movies and TV series. He's great!
Oh and sorry if his jokes are weird.
